EURO 2024. Latest from Ukraine's camp: national team arrives in Munich for EURO 2024 opening match
This morning, the Ukrainian national team held a training session at their home field in Taunusstein.
The weather surprised everyone with drastic changes: as soon as the players stepped onto the pitch, a cold heavy rain began to fall. Many players returned to the locker room to wear training jackets and pants instead of shorts. However, within 10 minutes, the rain suddenly stopped, and the sun emerged from behind the clouds, even starting to warm up a bit — the first such warm-up in three days.
The weather remained stable for the rest of the training session. During the practice, the players continued to work on tasks set by the coaching staff, aimed at preparing the game plan for their first EURO 2024 opponent, Romania.

In the afternoon, the Ukrainian delegation attended the EURO 2024 Festival, organized by the Ukrainian-German community of Taunusstein. The national team’s press secretary, Oleksandr Hlyvynskyi, thanked the local community for the warm reception the team experienced during their open training in Wiesbaden. He also expressed gratitude to Germany for supporting Ukraine during these challenging times. Additionally, the national team players recorded a video of thanks to the Ukrainian diaspora in Hesse for the warm welcome and donated autographed balls to be auctioned off to raise funds for Ukrainian charities.

German singer Marlen Mass, who gained popularity in Ukraine at the start of the full-scale invasion by singing Chervona Kalyna and garnering over 3 million views, presented a new song at the festival dedicated to Ukraine's participation in EURO 2024. Marlen hopes that both the players and the fans will enjoy the song.

In the evening, the team arrived at Frankfurt Airport and flew to Munich. Given the short distance between the cities, 400 km, the flight lasted about 40 minutes. As with their initial arrival in Germany for the tournament, the Ukrainian national team's bus was waiting near the plane. The team then headed straight from the airport to the center of Munich, where they settled into their hotel.
