On Monday, July 14, the Ukrainian Association of Football is opening its official fan shop for supporters of the national team. This date was chosen for a reason — on this very day 131 years ago, in 1894, the first officially recorded football match on the territory of modern Ukraine took place in Lviv.

The match was held in Stryiskyi Park between teams representing the Lviv and Krakow branches of the "Sokil" society. It lasted only a few minutes, but on the 6th minute, Volodymyr Khomytskyi of the Lviv team scored the first goal — a moment that went down in history as the first goal in Ukrainian football.

This day is officially recognized as the birthday of Ukrainian football, and it is in honor of this occasion that the UAF is launching its fan shop.
