Andriy Shevchenko

Born on September 29, 1976, in the city of Yahotyn, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine. Married, has four sons.

As a footballer, he played as a striker for Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan, and FC Chelsea.

Awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in 2003.

Received the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2004 for outstanding sports achievements and significant personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian football, as well as for enhancing Ukraine's reputation worldwide.

Recipient of the Order of Merit, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd classes, the Order of Courage, 3rd class, and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class.

In August 2022, he was awarded the «National Legend of Ukraine prize».

In August 2022, the nation united in celebration as Shevchenko was honored with the esteemed «National Legend of Ukraine» prize, a fitting tribute to his indelible mark on the hearts and minds of Ukrainians, both on and off the field.

Five-time champion of Ukraine, champion of Italy.

In 2003, he became the first Ukrainian to win the UEFA Champions League.

Ballon d'Or holder (2004) - an award presented to the best football player in Europe.

The first Ukrainian footballer to play 100 matches for the national team of Ukraine.

The top scorer of the Ukrainian national team in history (48 goals).

Captain of the Ukrainian national team, which reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 FIFA World Cup under the guidance of Oleg Blokhin.

From 2016 to 2021, he served as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team. Under his leadership, the team qualified for Euro 2020, where they reached the quarterfinals.

After the full-scale invasion by Russia, he became the first ambassador of the UNITED24 platform.

On January 25, 2024, at the XXVI Congress of the UAF, he was elected President of the Ukrainian Association of Football.
