The Euro 2023 (WU-19) tournament in Group A6 has started in Israel with the participation of Ukraine's women's youth national team. The first opponent for the blue and yellow was Austria.

In the first round of qualification for Euro 2023 (WU-19), Ukraine's women's youth national team qualified for Group A6, where they will play against Germany, Austria, and Israel, which is hosting the group. The first match of Valeriy Palamarchuks' protégés was held at the National Team Complex Shefayim (Shefa'amr), their opponent being Austria.

In the opening 45 minutes, the teams exchanged goals — Odjukwu finished Spin's cross from the right flank, and Moldyuk took advantage of an error by the opponents in their own penalty area. After that, the Austrians were closer to a second goal, but Boklach made several saves, and the Ukrainians managed to hold out for a draw.

The next match of the first round will be played on November 11 against Germany.

In total, 28 teams participate in the A League (including eight that moved up from the B League based on the results of the second round of qualification for the season-2021/2022, which concluded this spring). They are divided into seven groups. Teams within each group play at one venue in a mini-tournament format.

Teams that finish fourth will continue their season in the second round of the B League. The seeding for the second round will depend on the positions teams secure in their respective groups during the first round. Belgium also participates despite having an automatic qualification to the final stage as a host.

Teams from the B League (including those that dropped down from the A League after the second round of qualification for season-2021/2022, and Gibraltar's team making its debut in UEFA women's tournaments) compete in seven groups to qualify for the A League. Group winners will move up to a higher division.

As a reminder, Ukraine's women's youth national team retained their place in the A League, finishing third in their group during the second round of qualification for Euro 2022.
