April 3, the draw for the final stage of Euro-2024 (U-17) took place, according to which Ukraine's youth team was placed in Group A, where they will play against Cyprus (hosts), Serbia, and Czech Republic.

The head coach of the blue-and-yellow team, Yuriy Moroz, spoke to the official website of the UAF about his immediate plans and shared his thoughts on the opponents.

— Overall, we are satisfied with the draw results considering the composition of teams in Group D,— said Yuriy Moroz. — We have an equal group, so each participant has a chance to advance to the quarter-finals. It will be tough against Cyprus because they are the hosts. Serbia and Czech Republic are experiencing good development in youth football, these countries often participate in final tournaments of continental competitions. It won't be easy for anyone. Nevertheless, Ukraine's team will do everything possible to qualify for the knockout stage...

As for preparation plans, they have not changed: on April 9 and 11, we will play two friendlies against Cyprus, despite them being our group opponents. In future matches, half of our squad will change. There will be an opportunity to see other footballers in action; perhaps some of the boys will make a strong case for themselves and earn a spot on the team's roster for the European Championship.

As for the final phase of preparation, I plan to start working on Cyprus from May 10 or 12. Although we understand that deadlines may change considering the situation in the country.

Results of the Euro-2024 (U-17) Final Tournament Draw

Group A: Cyprus, Ukraine, Serbia, Czech Republic.

Group B: Denmark, Austria, Croatia, Wales.

Group C: Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, Poland.

Group D: France, Portugal, Spain, England.

We remind you that on March 12, our team under the leadership of Yuriy Moroz completed their battle in the elite round qualifier for Euro-2024 among players up to 17 years old with a victory over Slovakia (3:0). Considering that earlier blue-and-yellow defeated Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0), they became the group 4 winners and secured a spot in the final tournament.

The forum, involving 16 teams, will take place from May 20 to June 5, 2024 on Cyprus—on six stadiums in Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Paralimni and Limassol. Eight group winners of the elite round qualifier and seven second-placed teams with the best results (Belgium secured a wildcard) advanced directly to the final stage.

We add that for Ukraine's U-17 team, this will be their 11th final tournament of the European Championship.
