Today, October 3, in Chisinau, the Ukrainian youth national team for futsal played a semifinal match of Euro-2025 (U-19) against Spain.

We remind you that in the group stage, Igor Mosyichov's wards first defeated Moldova (7:0), in the second round they lost to Portugal (0:4), and in the third round they overcame Italy (2:0). As a result, our team secured the second place in Group A and advanced to the semifinals, where their opponent was the Spanish team.

In the first half, the blue-and-yellow quickly found themselves in the position of the team that needs to catch up. Pedro Altaba opened the scoring as early as the 3rd minute. However, Igor Mosyichov's wards seized control and by the 14th minute not only equalized but also took the lead. Bogdan Tsap and Artem Klimchuk scored for Ukraine. Nevertheless, the Spaniards quickly recovered and within two minutes regained the lead thanks to goals from Roger Garcia and Miguel Laos — 3:2.

After halftime, our opponents increased their activity even further, which resulted in two more goals by Pablo Gutierrez and Nacho Olivares. On the 32nd minute, Oleksandr Shpak gave hope to Ukrainian fans, but just two minutes later Unai Isquierdo restored a three-goal lead — 6:3. When on the 36th minute Oleksandr Shpak scored an own goal, everything became clear. The match was sealed by Pedro Altaba, who returned the favor to Oleksandr Shpak and scored an own goal.

Thus, a defeat of 4:7, and Ukraine's national team concluded their participation in Euro-2025 (U-19), finishing as semifinalists for the third consecutive tournament.

The first European Championship for youth futsal was held in 2019 in Rijeka, the second edition took place in 2022 in Jaén (originally planned for 2021 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and the third one was in 2023 in Poreč. The champions were teams from Spain (20192022) and Portugal (2023).

The Ukrainian national team participated in all three final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in the group stage, and in 2022 they reached the semifinals. In 2023, Igor Mosyichov's team also made it to the semifinal stage.
