Reminder, Igor Moskvin's wards won their first group A match in Moldova (7:0), and lost the second to Portugal (0:4). Today they faced Italy, and this match decided the fate of the second playoff spot from our quartet.

The first half was played in tense competition. The Ukrainians delivered five shots on target, while the Italians managed only four. However, their attempts were sharper, and twice only Ivan Belimov's skill saved our team, with another save coming from a solid defense.

After halftime, "Squadra Azzurra" launched several dangerous attacks, but once again, our goalkeeper excelled. And on the 28th minute, a counterattack down the left flank worked for us; Oleksandr Shpak scored the opening goal of the match with his second attempt. The Italians threw all their forces forward, and during one of our counterattacks, a cross twice saved them from an inevitable goal.

The final minutes of the match saw attacks by Italy's team, which switched to playing with five outfield players. However, in one of these attacks, they lost possession, and Nazar Pershin scored into an empty net.

Thus, 2:0 — a victory for Ukraine's U-19 team, who advanced to the Euro-2025 semifinals where they will face Spain.

The inaugural European Championship for indoor football among juniors was held in Rijeka in 2019, the second edition took place in Hainan (originally planned for 2021 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and the third one — in Poreč. The champions were teams from Spain (20192022) and Portugal (2023).

The Ukrainian team participated in all three final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards finished third in their group, and in 2022 they were stopped at the semifinals stage. In 2023, Igor Moskvin's team also reached the semifinal stage.
