In a working trip to Lviv Oblast, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the soldiers and all Ukrainian people, noting that it has been 500 days since Russia launched its full-scale war against our country.

"500 days have passed since we fought for freedom and independence for Ukraine. For dignity, for the right to life for all of our people, throughout all of Ukraine. Ukraine will always be grateful to everyone who fights for it. To our soldiers. Our heroes," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

The President emphasized that on the 500th day of the war, our country welcomed home five Heroes of Ukraine — commanders of Mariupol and "Azovstal."

"They fought heroically! They endured Russian captivity. Then for over 300 days they were in Turkey. It's time for them to be at home," said the Head of State.

"500 days ago, many around the world still did not understand who we are, what you are like, what to expect from us and who our heroes are. Now everyone understands. Now the world believes in Ukraine. The world is inspired by our courage, inspired by our heroes. And most importantly — Ukrainians believe in Ukraine, Ukrainians see what we are capable of when we stand together. In unity, we are strongest," said the president.

According to him, since the start of the full-scale war for freedom, thousands of our people have shown maximum courage, nearly 50 thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been awarded state honors.

"298 Ukrainians and Ukrainian women received the highest title of Hero of Ukraine. And we all must honor and remember these people — our heroes — now and after our victory. And our children, grandchildren, and all generations of the Ukrainian nation. Thank you, Heroes of Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!" said Volodymyr Zelensky.
