Note to attention – operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on July 8, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The fifth hundred day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against our state has begun.

Last night, the Russian Federation launched another attack on Ukraine using Iranian combat drones of the Shahed type. Information about the consequences of this terrorist attack is being clarified at present.

Yesterday, Russian occupation forces also attacked Ukrainian territory with Iranian combat drones Shahed. Out of 18 such drones, 12 were destroyed.

In addition, the enemy launched a missile strike on one of the infrastructure objects in Zaporizhzhia. Also, 53 air strikes and nearly 60 artillery attacks from multiple rocket launchers against our troops' positions and populated areas were recorded. Unfortunately, infrastructure was damaged, and civilians suffered.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka axes. Thirty-six combat engagements took place over the past day.

On the Volyn and Polesie fronts, the operational situation — no significant changes. No signs of forming offensive groups by the enemy were detected. Defined units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky fronts, over the day, the enemy carried out an air strike in the vicinity of Vilska, Kharkiv region. Conducted mortar and artillery shelling of more than 15 populated areas, including Popivka, Chernihiv region; Krasnopillya, Sumy region, and Okip, Neskyuchne, Vovchanske, Budarakyi, Rublne in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk front, over the day, the enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Novoselivskoye and Stelehmakhivka, Luhansk region. Our warriors firmly hold their defense, repelling all enemy attacks. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected Kolodyazhne, Novomlynskyi, Dvorychyna, Zapadne, Masutyvkha, Kupyanskyi, and Kislyvka in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman front, over the day, the enemy carried out assault actions and attempted to drive our troops from occupied positions near north-west of Berestove, Luhansk region. He was unsuccessful. Air strikes were delivered in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirne on Donetsk territory. Artillery shelling affected more than 10 populated areas, including Nveskoye, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and Veseloe, Rozdolvka — Donetsk.

On the Bakhmut front, under intense air and artillery fire from the enemy, our defenders successfully repelled all attacks in the vicinity of Berkhivka, Donetsk region. At the same time, the enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of populated places Bogdanivka, Klyschyivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka and Pivnichne. Over 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasukivka, Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Klyschyivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, and Dilievka in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiivka front, under air support, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions near Novokalynovo, Avdiivka, and Nevelskiy. At the same time, artillery shelling of more than 15 populated areas was recorded, including Keramik, Zelanne, Avdiivka, Severne, Karlivka, Perevomayske, and Nevelskiy in Donetsk region.

On the Marinka front, under enemy artillery fire, our defenders repelled all attacks near the city of Mariinka. The enemy carried out an air strike near Krasnogorivka, Donetsk region. Shelled populated places Krasnogorivka, Mariinka and Pobeda in Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk front, over the day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions near Blahodatne, Donetsk region. Carried out an air strike near Velyka Novosyolka. Shelled more than 15 populated areas, including Novomikhaylivka, Yelizavetivka, Bogoyavlenska, Ugledar, Zolotaya Niva and Severne in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts to prevent further advance of our troops. Conducted artillery shelling of more than 30 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Maliyevka, Hulyaypole, Zaliznychnye in Zaporizhzhia region; Lvov, Tokaryvka, Antonivka, Velytensko, Kizomys in Kherson region and the city of Kherson. At the same time, forces of Ukraine's defense continue to conduct offensive operations on Melitopol and Berdyansk axes, consolidate on achieved lines, deliver fire strikes, carry out counter-battery measures.

Against the backdrop of successful combat actions by the Forces of Defense of Ukraine and due to significant losses in manpower among Russian occupation forces units, there has been an increase in cases of refusal from participating in combat operations. Thus, near the populated place Rozivka, Zaporizhzhia region, nearly 20 Russian soldiers refused to carry out combat tasks on frontline positions. After this, they were taken under guard and moved to the building of Rozivsky District Court.

The aviation of the Forces of Defense of Ukraine carried out seven strikes against areas of enemy personnel concentration over the past day, four — against anti-aircraft missile systems, and one — against an enemy command post. Also, our defenders destroyed two tactical reconnaissance drones.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery during the day damaged two command posts, ammunition depots, eight artillery systems on firing positions, two anti-aircraft defense means, and two radio-electronic combat stations of the enemy.

Overall, Ukrainian warriors liquidated 630 Russian occupiers, destroyed four tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles, sixteen artillery systems, three MLRS, two air defense means, fourteen tactical reconnaissance drones, sixteen vehicles, and seven units of special equipment.
