Vice President of the UAF Anatoliy Demyanenko spoke about the matters used to persecute UAF leaders and communication with UEFA regarding this:

"Today, together with colleagues Oleksiy Mykhaylichenko, Oleg Protsasov, and Oleg Taran, I was in Lviv. We came to court to support the president of the UAF Andriy Pyvovarov, who has been unlawfully detained behind bars for three weeks already.

I want to emphasize — for three whole weeks, without any evidence of guilt and without a judicial verdict, through abuse of criminal justice, the legally elected representative of the UAF and UEFA has had his freedom taken away.

Today at court, in order to artificially create conditions for extending unjustified detention, no prosecutor appeared. There is deliberate obstruction of judicial process and rule of law. Simultaneously, everything that is happening grossly violates the regulations of UEFA, FIFA, which govern every national association and protect their independence.

At the request of UEFA, we inform about each fact of systematic pressure on the UAF. In a letter to us in recent days, the Association of European Football Associations informed that it is closely monitoring the situation and evaluating it with regard to the need for measures to be taken to protect the independence of Ukrainian football institutions.

I do not want to assess now what possible consequences such a reaction might have for our country and football. But I am convinced that this orchestrated campaign against UAF leaders must be stopped immediately."
