In the group stage of European first place, blue-and-yellow lost to the Netherlands (2:3), thrashed Serbia (6:1), and lost to Portugal (0:1), but secured second place in their quartet and advanced to the knockout stage. In the quarterfinals, Oleksandr Kosenko's team defeated Kazakhstan (5:3).
Thus, Ukraine’s national team has reached the semifinals of the European Futsal Championship for the fourth time in history and the first since 2005. In 2001 and 2003, our team advanced past this stage and achieved their greatest successes to date by reaching the final and securing continental second place. At Euro-2005, blue-and-yellow lost in this round to Spain and ultimately finished fourth.
In the semifinals of Euro 2022, which will take place in Amsterdam on February 4, Ukraine’s national team will play against Russia (kickoff at 18.00 Kyiv time).
