In the quarterfinal of the 2022 European Championship, Ukrainians overcame Kazakhstan with a score of 5:3 and advanced to the top four. After the match, captain of our team Petro Shoturma shared his emotions.

— The Ukrainian national team has reached the semifinals for the first time since 2005. How do you feel?

— It feels like a dream. At first, we thought it was impossible, but after the match with Portugal, we analyzed our game and saw that we could play against all opponents. Today Ukraine is celebrating, we gave everything.

— What was the key to victory?

— The main key was desire. Our blood burned, our hearts beat for Ukraine — that's how it turned out.

— With each match you look stronger. Are you already thinking about the final?

— We take things one step at a time. I think the first game, against the Netherlands, was decisive. We thought it would get easier with every match, but we had to add more effort with each game. I'm glad it happened this way, and Ukraine can celebrate.

— A tough semifinal awaits…

— We'll see who the opponent is. We will play with the same self-sacrifice as we did against Kazakhstan, giving everything for our Ukraine.
