Ukrainian referees passed a physical fitness check and an analysis of the opening rounds

From September 21 to 24, intermediate seminars and testing for referees of all-Ukrainian football tournaments took place. The events were held at the premises of the UAF and on the artificial field of NTI named after V. Bannikov.

The program of the gathering covered both practical and theoretical parts. Within the seminars, referees underwent a physical fitness check by completing the Single-Double-Single fitness test. During training sessions, there was a detailed analysis of previous tournament refereeing decisions as well as studying and discussing changes to the Laws of the Game for 2026.

Kateryna Monzul, head of the Referees Committee at UAF:

We took advantage of the international break and held gatherings for referees at all levels – Ukrainian Premier League, First League, Second League, U-19 championship, as well as gathered young and promising referees from the National School.

During the seminars, we analyzed previous rounds and decisions made by referees during matches. There was a check of physical condition and additional recommendations were given regarding new changes to the Laws of the Game. This year there were many changes, so we started the season with them. Now, based on specific situations that have already occurred in the championship, we conducted an analysis and identified aspects that referees need to improve in their future work, thoroughly examining decisions made during game episodes.

Overall, it is worth noting the professionalism and physical readiness of our referees. They meet international standards – both in terms of physical condition and understanding of the rules of the game.
