Viktor Bannikov

Born on April 28, 1938, in the village of Luginy, Zhitomir Oblast — died on April 25, 2001, in Kyiv. Playing position — goalkeeper. Honored Master of Sports. Five times entered the list of the top 33 footballers of the USSR.

 

 

Three-time champion (1966, 1967, 1968) and holder of the USSR Cup (1964, 1966, 1972). Twice recognized as the Best Goalkeeper of Ukraine and Kyiv Dynamo (1964, 1970).

Member of the symbolic 'Club Lev Yashin' — 138 matches without conceding goals. Bronze medalist of the World Championship-1966, silver medalist of Euro-1972.

Honored Trainer of Ukraine and USSR, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine. From 1991 to 1996, he headed the Football Federation of Ukraine (first president). Awarded UEFA Order 'For Merits', FIFA and UEFA gold medals.
