Preparing instructors - developing regions: the C-Diploma seminar of UEFA has started at the UAF

On September 29-30, 2026, the first session of the licensing seminar for UEFA C-Diploma program instructors took place. The training brought together 25 coaches from various regions of Ukraine.

This seminar is a logical continuation of the updated coaching education concept. Before training children's coaches in their regions, instructors must thoroughly master the philosophy of football and modern European methods of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU). The participants still have two more training sessions ahead, after which they will undergo practical training by teaching coaches directly in their own regions.

The following leading experts shared their experience and knowledge with the audience:

  • Director of the Department for Football Development at FFU, UEFA instructor Bohdan Hordyniuk;
  • Director of the Central Football School of Ukraine, Candidate of Sciences, Associate Professor Oleg Bayrachnyi;
  • Candidate of Sciences, Associate Professor, UEFA B-Diploma Taras Chopilko;
  • Head coach of DFK "Progress," UEFA A-Diploma Andriy Panasyuk.

From Philosophy to Cognitive Skills: Key Directions of the First Session

The program of the first two days covered fundamental topics necessary for preparing qualified instructors:

  • Philosophy and profile of a modern coach
  • Psychology and creating a positive environment
  • Effective communication and inclusivity
  • Game thinking and creativity

Quality preparation of instructors guarantees that coaches in all regions of the country will receive standardized, up-to-date knowledge. This is another important step towards nurturing a new generation of Ukrainian players based on advanced European approaches.
