"Open Football Festivals" in Dnipropetrovska Oblast

This was a day when football was not about the result or the competition, but about movement, teamwork, communication, and positive emotions.

Children were looking forward to football activities, fun team games, relay races, as well as psychological and safety booths where they talked about emotions and important safety rules in wartime conditions. The main thing was that each child felt like part of a team and simply enjoyed the game.

The Christian football club "Penuel" and the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Football Association, which were local organizers, thanked Hryhoriivka community for this day and cooperation, as well as coaches who join the program, spend time with children, play with them, and contribute a piece of themselves to each meeting.

The project is implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association within the framework of the donor program "Restoration and Resilience under Youth Leadership in Ukraine" with support from the Association for Cross-Cultural Projects and CISU (Civil Society in Development) organization from Denmark.

The "Open Football Festivals" project of the Ukrainian Football Association is:

— youth leadership and development of volunteering in communities;

— psychological and social support for children of military servicemen in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, children of internally displaced persons, and children who have suffered from the war;

— an inclusive environment where everyone participates regardless of abilities and gender, including children with special educational needs;

— knowledge of safety in wartime conditions;

— the philosophy of mass football — joy from playing instead of results at any cost;

— the first football experience for children.
