President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about Japan's timely and necessary support for our country and his conversation with ambassadors from our charitable platform United24.

Here are a few summaries for today.

First, I would like to thank Japan for its timely and necessary decision regarding support for Ukraine. 4.5 billion dollars is the total sum, and we expect the first part of it - 1.5 billion - in January. A significant portion of this aid package will come in spring. Japan consistently and very principled supports our country and our people, and I am grateful for such assistance.

I held a lengthy meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. Among other things, we discussed cooperation with partners, preparation and new decisions regarding support for our country, as well as cooperation with donors. We also talked about energy issues, the work of the government to ensure Ukraine's energy stability, and the stability of all our systems. Thanks to the connection of our power system with Europe, we have corresponding support from neighbors - this is important. I thank every country that helps us. And I thank every Ukrainian family - everyone who understands the military challenges, keeps warm and consumes electricity economically.

This week, we expect critical votes from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine - today we talked about some of them with the Prime Minister. This concerns what is expected of us in relations with creditors, and what Ukraine needs to do within the framework of preparing for talks with the EU. Our priority is full implementation of all decisions needed for Ukraine to fulfill everything necessary on the European track. We believe that the EU will also keep its promise to Ukraine.

I just talked about this with Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez. Our international relations, our cooperation in the EU. Support for our defense. Steps that can be taken so that all of Europe becomes stronger. Thank you for your help!

Today I held a conversation with ambassadors from our state charitable platform United24. Actually, it was a summary meeting on reconstruction efforts. Andriy Shevchenko, Elena Svitolina, Kateryna Ivankova, Oleksandr Usyk, Michel Hazanavicius, Brad Paisley, Imagine Dragons. I thanked them for uniting the world for our people and for rebuilding Ukrainian infrastructure. This week we are marking 500 million dollars raised through United24's work. If talking about how these funds are directed, it includes thousands of drone complexes as well as maritime drones, 200 high-class resuscitation ambulances, armored fast vehicles, hundreds of generators for hospitals and other equipment... During the reconstruction process - multi-apartment buildings and schools, there are already restored hospitals, and a demining center has been built. All this is thanks to millions of donors from all over the world. Ordinary people and companies from more than 100 countries. I thank everyone who joined United24's work and our platform team.

As always, I was in touch with military commanders - there was an intelligence briefing. And now I would like to highlight border guards. They not only protect the state border but also fight alongside all Ukrainian Defense Forces soldiers on the front for our country and people. Thank you to all units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine! Especially, I want to mention soldiers from the Kramatorsk Border Patrol Unit - Bakhmut direction, Donetsk region. Soldier Mykhailo Levitsky and Sergeant Igor Kulikov - brave, effective fighters. I thank you, guys! Zhytomyr Border Patrol Unit - soldier Vasyl Paliy with the call sign Border and Sergeant Oleksandr Kachur. They are fighting in Donetsk. Thank you for your courage and enemy destruction! Special unit DOZOR. Working on various fronts, and there is a result everywhere. Well done, fighters! I would also like to mention units that protect our country's south, including the Southern Regional Administration and Coast Guard. Their mobile fire groups shoot down "drones" at night, and I thank you guys for every enemy drone shot down!

There is a new decision regarding sanctions against Russian entities involved in this aggression, both physical and legal persons. Over 360 of them. And we are working with partners to synchronize all our sanction steps.

And one more thing.

Today is Local Self-Government Day in Ukraine - the day for many people who work in communities, for communities. In areas near the front and throughout our country. I congratulate everyone for whom being in local self-government means being with people, caring about their interests, and always remembering the interests of all of Ukraine. Thank you to those who really make their communities stronger. Today I signed a decree on awarding representatives of local self-government - those working near the front line, who were injured but did not leave their community.
