After the fifth round of group stage matches in European club competitions, Ukraine is ranked 18th on the UEFA coefficient table for the five-year cycle 2019/2020–2023/2024 and continues to fight for a place in the top-15 to retain two spots in the Champions League qualifying rounds.

Five domestic clubs started the season 2023/2024, and three of them have already withdrawn after being relegated to the Conference League: «Vorskla» lost to «Dijon» (1:3), «Dnipro-1» — «Spartak Moscow» (1:2), and «Dynamo Kyiv» — «Besiktas» (0:1).

This week, Ukraine gained two points thanks to Shakhtar Donetsk's victory over «Antwerp» (1:0), placing us at the 18th position.

Overall, our association has accumulated 17.5 points or 3.500 in total coefficient. Shakhtar Donetsk has earned ten points (with four bonus points for reaching the group stage of the Champions League), «Zorya» — four, «Dnipro-1» — one and a half, «Vorskla» and «Dynamo Kyiv» — each one.

We are discussing the retention of a top-15 position because at 16th place, an association loses one quota in European competitions overall (four clubs instead of five), and specifically in the Champions League (one representative instead of two).
