President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the need to heed air raid warnings and noting that danger is significant, as well as the active work being done to remove any obstacles for our EU accession.

"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!

First of all – gratitude to our defenders of the skies! To mobile artillery unit soldiers, Ukrainian pilots and anti-aircraft missile troops, all units that destroy Russian aviation, missiles and drones. Last night, 18 "Shaheds" and one guided air-to-surface missile were shot down. Sadly, there are several hits. But most enemy targets were destroyed. And, in particular, in the Poltava region, Chernihiv region, Sumy region, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions, as well as other parts of our country. I thank you for this, my soldiers. We must all clearly remember: every such shoot-down is a saving of lives and infrastructure. And I ask all Ukrainians to heed air raid warnings and consider that, although we are strengthening the air defense system as much as possible, there is still significant danger. Especially in cities like Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson. In towns and villages of Kherson Oblast, Donetsk Oblast. In Chernihiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast. It's important to be careful and not take the danger lightly.

Today I held several important meetings and, as always – a conference call: military personnel, intelligence, government officials responsible for the situation in regions. I also had a meeting with our team that represented Ukraine at the Formula of Peace parliamentary meeting. We discussed the main details and results of this summit. Some things – very beneficial for Ukraine and international law overall – we are not disclosing yet. The reason is clear: we don't want to give Russia an opportunity to undermine our international efforts. But I can say that this, already third, parliamentary meeting became even stronger than the previous two. It continued to consolidate the world. There's a final document of the parliamentary meeting on Malta. And there are many signals from representatives of countries, especially from the Global South and our partners in Europe and America, confirming the correctness of our course towards uniting the world around the Formula of Peace, so that principles of fair peace and full restoration of international law become a common plan for the majority of the world. We determined today at the meeting the main steps we will take over the next months to add new content regarding the Formula of Peace.

Another very important thing. Today's day has a special geopolitical and value significance. This day, November 1st, is celebrated as the birthday of the European Union. Thirty years ago, the Maastricht Treaty came into force, laying the foundations for modern European unity. There was much opposition to Europe in unification, much distrust about a united Europe. But even today, anti-European politics remains quite loud part of political spectrum in various countries. Especially in those countries whose Euro-optimism is critically important for maintaining peace and normal order in Europe and around the world. Yet the EU has already proven several times that it's capable of overcoming crises, capable of defending itself, capable of preserving valuable leadership in the world, capable of becoming stronger when its enemies expect only weakness from it.

We value our Europe, a Europe of interaction rather than conflict, a Europe of people rather than ideologies, because only such a continent can protect and defend human lives both in European countries and around the world. I am confident that Ukraine will make our Europe stronger than ever before, and we are working maximally actively to remove any obstacles for our EU accession. And I am also confident that, no matter how events develop in the world, among other partners of ours, in America or elsewhere, unity will prevail. Unity, not division. Unity, not calls for self-isolation.

I thank everyone for helping Ukraine and working together to defend our European values. And I also thank all those around the world who help preserve unity. To everyone – from Washington to every capital in the world where people's lives are valued.
