Today, the Ukrainian women's youth national team played their second match in the first round of qualification for the 2024 UEFA European Championship (WU-19) in Group L.
The first opponent of the blue and yellow team was Armenia, whom Nataliya Ignatovich's protégées defeated with a score of 6:0. Today, the Ukrainians continued their European qualification campaign against Luxembourg.
As in the match against Armenia, our girls had total dominance. In the first half, they fired 12 shots at the opposition's goal, two of which were successful. On the 11th minute, Marina Ptitcyna opened the scoring, and on the 14th minute, Myroslava Nevar doubled it.
In the second half, the demolition of Luxembourg continued. First, at the 52nd minute, Ptitcyna scored her third goal, followed by Angelina Fedorenko who completed a brace. The Ukrainians did not stop there — on the 90th minute, Liliana Serbuk sealed the score to 6:0. It's worth noting that throughout the entire match, Luxembourg was unable to fire a single shot at our goal.
The next qualifying match for the 2024 UEFA European Championship will be against North Macedonia on October 30 (kick-off at 13:00 Kyiv time). In this game, our girls are tasked with securing a draw to achieve their strategic goal.
