To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 20, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and forty-third day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

During the past day, the enemy carried out five missile strikes and 61 air raids, conducted 67 artillery attacks on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were casualties among civilians. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure suffered damage.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across the territory of Ukraine remains high.

During the past day, 32 combat engagements took place.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky Directions the enemy carried out air raids in the areas of Stepne, Kostiantynivka of Sumy Oblast. The enemy conducted mortar and artillery shelling of over 20 populated areas. This includes, among others, Karpovychi, Bleshnya, Senkivka Chernihiv Oblast; Volvino, Kostiantynivka, Myropilske, Popivka, Seredyna-Buda Sumy Oblast and Vylcha, Zybino, Karaiychne, Losakhove, Hativshche, Ohrymovka Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk Direction the enemy carried out air raids in the areas of Kislivka and Kotliarivka Kharkiv Oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected populated areas such as Kucherivka, Petro-Pavlivka, Kislivka, Berestove Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman Direction the enemy carried out air raids in the areas of Bihorivka and Serednyansky Forest Luhansk Oblast as well as Terny, Veseloye, Svyatogorsk Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected nearly 15 populated areas, including Nevske, Bihorivka Luhansk Oblast and Verkhnyokamyanske, Spirene, Rozdolivka, Zvanivka, Fedorivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut Direction the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas north of Bogdanivka and north and south of Klyshchyvka Donetsk Oblast. Air raids were carried out in the areas of Klyshchyvka, Bogdanivka, North Donetsk Oblast. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Novomarkeve, Klyshchyvka, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Bogdanivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivka Direction artillery shelling affected populated areas such as Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Severne, Karlivka, Pervomaisk Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol Direction defensive forces continue to hold back Russian troops in the area of Mariupol. The enemy carried out an air raid in the area of Krasnogorivka Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling affected populated areas such as Nevelske, Krasnogorivka, Mariupol, Gostre, Pobedy, Katerynovka, Novomykhailivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk Direction the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions in the area of Urozhayne. An air raid was carried out in the area of Urozhayne. Artillery shelling affected Vodyane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolotaya Niva, Blagodatne, Staromajorske, and Urozhayne Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia Direction the enemy carried out air raids in the areas of Mala Tokmakha, Yegorivka, Robotino Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Over 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Novodarivka, Poltavka, Malinivka, Hulyaypole, Stepeve, Novodanylivka, Kamianske, Plyavnii Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Nikopol Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

On the Kherson Direction over 15 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Tokaryvka, Dudchani, Berislav, Mykolaivka, Dniprovske, Zorivka, Kizomys Kherson Oblast and Ochakiv Mykolayiv Oblast.

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk Directions, consolidate on achieved lines, carry out counter-battery measures.

The Air Force of Defensive Forces carried out nine strikes against areas of enemy personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment during the past day as well as one strike against a surface-to-air missile system.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage on six artillery systems at firing positions, three command points and three air defense systems of the enemy over the past day.
