In preparation for the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-19) in futsal, Ukraine's youth national team is participating in the traditional Futsal Week summer tournament held in Poreč, Croatia.

Our team has been placed in Group B where they will face Morocco, Poland, and Portugal. In Group A are teams from Spain, Croatia, Italy, and Czech Republic. The group stage matches are scheduled for June 20-23. The placement matches will take place on the 25th.

On June 20, in their first match at Futsal Week, our boys lost to Morocco (1:4). Now, Igor Moskvichov's wards could not stand up to the Polish team — 2:4. In our team’s lineup, Andriy Yelishev and Dmytro Fedik scored.

It should be noted that Ukraine's youth national team will play their next match at the Croatian tournament against Portugal on June 23 (match start — 19.15 Kyiv time).

The blue-and-yellow team is preparing for Euro-2023 (U-19), which will take place in Poreč from September 3 to 10. Joining the host Croatian national team are seven winners of the main round. The eight tournament participants have been divided into two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each advancing to the semifinals. According to the draw results, Ukraine's youth national team was placed in Group B where they will play against Finland, Slovenia, and Italy.

As a reminder, in March Ukraine's youth national futsal team qualified for the final tournament of the continental championship for the third consecutive year. In Group 2 of the main round of qualification for Euro-2023 (U-19), which was held in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia, Igor Moskvichov’s wards convincingly defeated Montenegro (12:1) and Romania (7:3), lost to Serbia in the decisive match (4:2), thus securing first place in the group.

Final Standings

The inaugural European Championship for youth futsal teams took place in 2019 in Rijeka, and the second edition was held in Hain in 2022 — both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship had initially been planned for 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukraine's national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov’s wards secured third place in their group, and in 2022 they stopped at the semifinals.
