In preparation for the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-19) in futsal, Ukraine's youth national team is participating in the traditional Futsal Week summer tournament held in Poreč, Croatia.

Our team has been drawn into Group B where they will face Morocco, Poland, and Portugal. In Group A play Spain, Croatia, Italy, and Czech Republic. The group stage matches are scheduled for June 20-23. The placement games will take place on the 25th.

The Ukraine U-19 national team gathered for a training camp in Uzhhorod before departing for an international tournament. According to the press service of the Ukrainian Futsal Association, our team encountered difficulties getting through the Hungarian border, where they were delayed for nearly 10 hours. Due to this delay, the blue and yellow team was unable to attend a planned training session at the Finida Hall pitch, where Futsal Week matches are held.

Also, prior to the games, changes occurred in the Ukrainian squad. Maxim Malynovskiy ("Cardinal-Rivnestandart"), who trained according to an individual program, needs to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of his injury. In the team, he was replaced by Illia Prykhodko from "Hurricane."

On June 20, in their first match at Futsal Week, our boys lost to Morocco, a team they had never played against before. The only goal for Ukraine was scored by Igor Pelецкий.

It should be noted that the next match of the Ukrainian youth national team on the Croatian tournament will take place on June 21 against Poland (match start - 7:15 PM Kyiv time).

The inaugural European Championship for youth futsal teams took place in 2019 in Rijeka, the second edition was held in Hain in 2022 — both times (20192022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship was initially planned for 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ukrainian national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in their group, and in 2022 they were eliminated in the semifinals.
