In July of last year, the blue-and-yellow won bronze medals at the European Championship. Since Euro-2022 was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our team immediately had to switch to qualifying for Euro-2023. Ukraine began its journey in the main round and was supposed to host the mini-tournament; however, due to Russian aggression, UEFA moved the quartet matches to Poland.
In October, the blue-and-yellow team held a training camp in the Polish city of Miedzyzdroje and then relocated to Poznan, where the main round matches took place. There, the Ukrainian national team defeated the Netherlands (5:2) in their first match, beat Croatia (5:1) in their second, and concluded the mini-tournament with a draw against Poland (1:1). The wards of Oleg Shaytanov managed to secure the top spot in the quartet, which allowed them to qualify for the third European Championship among women.
