After yesterday's victory over Azerbaijan (2:1), the team coached by Mykola Kostenko faced Germany in their last group round match of Euro-2022.

The game ended with a slight advantage for the blue and yellow team. Oleh Zborovsky scored the first goal at the end of the first period, while early in the second 12-minute interval, Dmytro Medvid doubled it. However, five minutes later, Germany narrowed the gap thanks to an own goal by Andriy Borsuk.

In the third quarter, both teams exchanged goals and Ukraine secured a win—3:2. As a result, Mykola Kostenko's team accumulated six points and took third place in Group B. This gave them an opportunity to advance to what is called the small semifinals and compete for 5th-8th places as well as qualification for the European Games 2023.
