Today, May 31 in Nyon, Switzerland, during the draw procedure for the first round of qualification for Euro-2022/2023, Ukraine's WU-19 women's national team learned the names of their opponents.

The ceremony determined the composition of groups in both leagues. The young women's national team of Ukraine was placed in Group A6, where they will play against Germany, Austria, and Israel.

In League A, 28 teams (including eight that advanced from League B based on the results of the second round of qualification for the 2021/2022 season which concluded this spring) are participating. They were divided into seven groups. Teams in each group will play mini-tournaments at one venue.

Teams finishing fourth in their groups will continue to the second round of League B. The seeding for the second round will depend on the positions teams secure in their first-round groups. Belgium will also participate despite having a direct entry into the final stage as hosts.

Teams in League B (including those that dropped from League A after the second round of qualification for the 2021/2022 season, and Gibraltar's team which is participating in women’s tournaments for UEFA for the first time) are competing to advance to League A across seven groups. Group winners will move up to the higher division.

After the draw, hosts of mini-tournaments will be determined. Matches will take place either from August 30/31 to September 5/6 or from October 4/5 to October 11, or from November 8/9 to November 14/15 this year.

As a reminder, Ukraine's women’s youth national team retained its place in League A, finishing third in their group during the second round of Euro-2022 qualification.
