Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 23, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion into our country.

The fiftieth-ninth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to wage a full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine.

The enemy is conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone with the aim of destroying the units of the United Forces, establishing complete control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and ensuring land communication between these territories and the occupied Crimea.

The highest activity of the enemy is observed on the Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions. Units of the occupiers are conducting redeployment.

The enemy does not cease to deliver rocket-bombardment strikes against military and civilian infrastructure objects.

On the Volyn, Polesie, and Northern directions, units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus are carrying out tasks to strengthen the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in Brest and Gomel regions. With the aim of clarifying the situation of our troops on the Sumy direction, the enemy has used UAVs from the area of ​​the village of Glushkovo.

There is a threat of missile-aircraft strikes from the mentioned directions. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that the enemy will carry out provocations on the Ukrainian-Russian border with accusations against representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the Tavriysky and Southern Buzhsky directions, a group of enemy forces consisting of separate units of the 8th and 49th Combined Arms Armies, the 22nd Army Corps, coastal troops of the Black Sea Fleet of the Southern Military District, and airborne assault troops is operating. The enemy concentrates its efforts on improving its tactical position and holding occupied lines.

In order to create favorable conditions for advancing towards the city of Mykolaiv, the enemy conducts shelling of positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To strengthen the anti-aircraft defense system in the area of ​​the city of Saky, the enemy has deployed a battery of S-300VM.

On the Slobozhansky direction, the group of enemy forces continues to partially block Kharkiv and shell it with artillery fire.

Separate units of the 1st Tank Army, 20th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District, 35th Combined Arms Army, and 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District, as well as airborne assault troops are conducting offensive and storming actions south of Izium. The enemy is carrying out air reconnaissance of positions and measures to organize fire support for the advance and logistical support of the group.

According to available information, units of the 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, which took an active part in mass killings, torture, and rape of civilian population in the Ukrainian city of Bucha, are operating in the area of ​​the village of Izium and have already suffered losses.

On the Donetsk direction, the enemy is conducting offensive operations along the entire line of contact. The enemy concentrates its main efforts on offensive actions on the Severodonetsk direction, carrying out intense fire impact on our troops with the aim of their expulsion and creating conditions for advancing towards Sloviansk. Offensive operations are ongoing in the direction of Novotoshkivskiy and storming actions are being carried out in the areas of Rubizhnoye, Popasna, and Mariinka.

On the Mariupol direction, the enemy continues to block our units in the area of ​​the Azovstal plant and carries out air strikes on the city, including with the use of long-range aircraft. With the aim of dismantling port infrastructure in Mariupol, an engineering unit has arrived at the occupied city.

On the Zaporizhzhya direction, to strengthen its group, the enemy transferred a battalion tactical group from the 19th Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.

Within the formation of additional reserves, the preparation of a unit of the private military company "Wagner" numbering up to 200 people has been completed. A forward group of the unit was moved to the area of ​​Novobakhmutivka for reconnaissance and clarification of interaction procedures. Information is currently being verified.

On the Southern Buzhsky direction, the enemy is trying to improve its tactical position and consolidate on administrative borders of Kherson region. Suffering significant losses in equipment.

In the Black Sea and Azov Sea operational zones, naval groups of the enemy in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas continue to carry out tasks related to isolating the area of ​​combat operations and conducting reconnaissance.

Only on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day, eight attacks by the enemy were repelled, nine tanks, eighteen units of armored vehicles, thirteen units of automotive equipment, a fuel depot, three artillery systems were destroyed.
