Today, April 5 in the English city of Burton-on-Trent, Ukraine's WU-19 women's youth team played a match against Belgium in the second qualifying round for Euro 2025 in League A.

On April 2, the Ukrainians were supposed to start a mini-tournament with a game against Austria. However, the match did not take place. The reason was that our team did not receive British visas in time despite completing all necessary procedures within the set deadlines and submitting documents on March 12. As a result, in the first game of the mini-tournament, blue-and-yellow received a technical loss with a score of 0:3.

Today our girls in Burton-on-Trent at St. George's Park in Group A3 met Belgium. In the first half, opponents had an advantage and Ukraine's national team conceded twice.

After halftime, Zaborovets scored one goal by playing a penalty kick after her own unsuccessful penalty attempt. However, shortly thereafter Anastasiia Zhigadlo was sent off, and Belgium immediately scored their third goal. Near the end of the match, the ball found its way into Kalinchuk's net for the fourth time. Thus, blue-and-yellow conceded — 1:4.

Unfortunately, after two rounds, Ukraine's WU-19 team lost chances to climb higher than last place and will drop to League B in the next cycle, Euro 2026. The final match of the second qualifying round will be played against England on April 8.

In the second qualifying round, seven teams will be determined to join Poland in the final stage of the European Championship for women's under-19 teams. Additionally, teams that move from one league to another are identified. Despite automatic qualification into the finals, Poland will participate in the qualifiers. The seeding for the draw of the second qualifying round was based on the positions held by the teams in the first qualifying round.

In League A, seven groups with 28 teams are playing, including seven national teams that advanced from League B after the first qualifying round. The seven group winners in League A (and the best second-place finisher if Poland finishes first in their group) will earn spots in the final stage. Teams finishing fourth in their groups will start the season-2025/2026 in League B.

In League B, 23 teams are competing across six groups for promotion to League A in the next qualifying round.

The mini-tournaments of the second qualifying round will conclude by April 8, 2025, with the final stage taking place from June 15-27.
