President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about a meeting of the General Staff in a special format and a major meeting with officials regarding the export of our agricultural products through European territories.
"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!
A brief report for today.
Conducted a meeting of the General Staff - in a special format. The greatest attention was given to front-line issues.
There were reports from commanders, heads of main directions, and the head of the General Intelligence Service (GUR). Maximum attention is paid both to those areas where we are advancing and to those where our forces are in defense. On all fronts, the primary task is to maximize the destruction of occupiers, their equipment, supplies, depots, headquarters. Russia must lose every day - this is just. And I thank all our soldiers who ensure this: all our soldiers, sailors, petty officers, sergeants, officers and generals. It is very important that our forces of defense and security, our entire state works as one team for the sake of defense.
Of course, we also thoroughly discuss at the General Staff all issues related to protecting against Russian missile and drone terror. Protecting our people, our cities, our ports, the Black Sea "grain corridor". We are preparing strong responses to Russian terrorists for their attacks.
I also held several political meetings, including regarding the European Union, our integration. This year we must reach the start of negotiations on membership. Ukraine is fully prepared for this - we are doing what is required from us. And we do everything possible to ensure that EU readiness is also complete. This very year.
I held a major meeting with officials, with our internationalists regarding the export of Ukrainian agricultural products through European territories. There is an important agreement with the European Commission for September 15 - this is the deadline for the existence of restrictions on our grain exports, and we believe that the EU side will fulfill its obligations by this date when temporary restrictions cease to apply. Any extension of these restrictions would be absolutely unacceptable and openly un-European. Europe has institutional capacity to act more rationally than closing one border or another for a particular commodity. We are working very actively with everyone to find such a solution that would correspond to the spirit of our Europe.
And one more thing.
Rarely - once a month - I make a special thank you, a written thank you, to those soldiers who have distinguished themselves most on the front line. Last week I handed such a written thank you to our glorious 56th Independent Motorized Infantry Mariupol Brigade. To all its soldiers and brigade commander. And today they gave me a badge of the 56th brigade - it is already here, in my office, pinned next to other badges. And a flag signed by the boys.
I am very grateful to you, soldiers! I am very grateful to you, heroes!
Glory to all who fight for Ukraine! Thank you to everyone who makes Ukraine stronger!
Glory to Ukraine!"
