Ternopil became the latest city where the "Talantikos" project of the Ukrainian Football Association gathered adults responsible for the development of young football players.

Talenticos has begun in Ternopil — an initiative of the UAF supported by the UAF Foundation, which brings together football, education, and modern methods of nurturing young players. The event gathered 51 participants — parents, coaches, and managers.

A child's success in football is not born solely on the training field. It is shaped by their entire environment: home atmosphere, coaching approach, and organization of the process. When each of these components works together harmoniously, a child has room to grow. This was the focus of the seminar held in Ternopil.

The program covered two blocks:

  • “Parents as partners in development.” Participants discussed how family influences a child’s sports journey: from daily support to reactions to setbacks. The parental role is not just observing from the stands, but being a full partner with the coach in nurturing young football players.
  • “Managers as the foundation of a child’s development environment.” This block focused on how quality organization is an invisible but critical component of children's football. Managers create conditions in which coaches, parents, and children can interact effectively.

Seminar + festival = Talenticos

The educational meeting is the first half of a two-day event. On the second day, children take over: they are greeted by a football festival filled with games and emotions.

Together, these two days encompass the project's philosophy. The knowledge adults gain at the seminar is immediately put into practice during the festival: in support from the stands, in coach-player interactions, and in the overall festive atmosphere. Thus, theory turns into practice literally within a day.

A child wins when the adults around them act as one team. And the more entities join Talenticos, the more young football players will grow in an environment where they are heard, supported, and understood.
