The first opponent of Yuriy Klymenko's team in Group B was the tournament hosts, Italy. 

In the initial period, there was an even battle where both teams were more focused on defense than offensive actions. However, at the beginning of the second 12-minute segment, our girls opened the score: Hanna Prokopenko scored with a close-range shot. On the 17th minute, Anastasiya Teresh dared to shoot from her own goal line, and the ball ricocheted off the sand leaving the Italian goalkeeper without a chance — 2:0. Soon after, towards the end of the period, the hosts managed to tie the game: first, Gretta Adamo scored following a corner kick, then Melania Pisa outmaneuvered our keeper in a battle near the goal — 2:2.

In the third period, on the 32nd minute, Hanna Shulga was first to reach the rebound after Irina Dubitskaya's powerful shot. Just one minute before the final whistle, an Italian positional error led to Shulga scoring her second goal.

So, 4:2 — a hard-fought victory for Ukraine that immediately advanced the blue and yellow team to the semifinals of the tournament. They will be joined by Spain from Group B. Tomorrow's match between Spain and Ukraine will only affect the final standings in our trio.
