Today, on February 6, the draw ceremony for the Euro-2027 (U-21) qualifying tournament took place.

The 2027 European Championship for youth national teams will feature 53 participating teams, two of which, Albania and Serbia, have already secured their spots as hosts. Liechtenstein did not enter the qualification process, while Russia was barred from participation according to a UEFA Executive Committee decision.

Therefore, 51 national teams will compete in the selection tournament. According to the UEFA ranking (based on performance in qualifying and final tournaments of Euro-2021, Euro-2023, and Euro-2025 qualification), the teams were divided into six pots. Ukraine ended up in the first pot.

As a result of the draw, blue-and-yellow will be placed in Group H, where their opponents will be Croatia, Hungary, Turkey, and Lithuania.

Group A: Spain, Romania, Finland, Kosovo, Cyprus, San Marino.

Group B: Portugal, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Scotland, Azerbaijan, Gibraltar.

Group C: France, Switzerland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Luxembourg, Estonia.

Group D: England, Ireland, Slovakia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Andorra.

Group E: Italy, Poland, Sweden, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Armenia.

Group F: Germany, Georgia, Greece, Northern Ireland, Latvia, Malta.

Group G: Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Group H: Ukraine, Croatia, Hungary, Turkey, Lithuania.

Group I: Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Wales, Belarus.

Nine groups were formed: six of them will have six teams each and three will have five.

In the final stage of Euro-2027 (U-21), 16 teams will compete: Albania, Serbia, plus 14 other national teams that join them based on qualification results (nine group winners, the best second-placed team and four playoff round winners).

2025:

  • March 17-25;
  • June 2-10;
  • September 1-9;
  • October 6-14;
  • November 10-18.

2026:

  • March 23-31;
  • September 21 - October 6;

Playoff: November 9-17, 2026.

Euro-2027 (U-21) is planned to be held on four stadiums in Albania (Tirana, Shkoder, Elbasan, Rogozhina) and four in Serbia (Novi Sad, Loznica, Leskovac, Zajecar). The opening match will take place in Serbia, the final — in Albania. It should be noted that the winners of Euro-2027 (U-21) will qualify for the 2028 Olympics from UEFA's zone.
