Within the preparation for the Euro-2025 (U-19) futsal tournament, Igor Moskvin's wards played their second of two friendly matches against the hosts of the final tournament.

In January, the blue-and-yellow team secured third place at the Istria Nations Cup 2025 in Croatian cities Umag and Novigrad. There, our boys defeated Slovenia's juniors (4:0) and Slovakia (7:0), drew with Italy (2:2), and lost to France (2:5).

After this, the Ukrainian youth team traveled for two away friendly matches against Moldova's juniors, who will be hosting Euro-2025 (U-19). The first of these sparring games, which took place at "Chisinau Arena" on February 2nd, ended with a victory for the guests — 7:2.

Today, the teams played their second match. The blue-and-yellow team secured another convincing win — 5:2.

Recall that on October 31st, the qualification draw for Euro-2025 (U-19) futsal took place, during which Ukraine's youth team learned their opponents.

Our team will play in the main round of the tournament right away. Twenty-five of the best teams according to UEFA rankings and three winners from a previous round are participating here. They have been divided into seven groups of four teams each. By luck, blue-and-yellow ended up in Group 5 with Netherlands, Serbia, and Montenegro. The mini-tournament will take place in Serbia. Only one team from the group advances to the final stage.

The fourth European Championship for youth national futsal teams U-19 will take place in the same format as before. Qualification matches will conclude in March 2025. Seven teams will be determined to join Moldova, the host country. The final tournament will consist of two groups of four teams each, with two from each advancing to the semifinals.
