"We analyzed the friendly match with Egypt, identified the mistakes we need to avoid in future matches. As for our next opponent, Paraguay's team, I can say that it is a decent Latin American team. It has fighters, so there will be plenty of fighting. However, we must not let the opponent influence us but focus on our game. Overall, it’s interesting to play against a representative from another continent." — noted half-back Mykola Mykhaylenko.

The format of the Olympic tournament follows tradition: competition in four groups with four teams each, two strongest teams advancing into the knockout stage, then quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place match and final (September 9, Paris, «Parc des Princes»).
We remind you that last summer, our team achieved an historic success — securing a place in the quarterfinals of Euro-2023 (U-21) by defeating France (3:1) and earning a ticket to the semifinals. This victory earned Ukraine its first-ever qualification for the football tournament at the Olympics. Along with Ukraine, Spain and Israel also qualified through Euro-2023.
Participants of the men's football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games will compete from July 24 to August 9 in seven cities across France: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, Nice and Nantes.
In total, 16 teams will participate in the tournament: France as hosts, three representing Europe (Ukraine, Spain, Israel), three from Africa (Morocco, Egypt, Mali), three from Asia (Japan, Uzbekistan, Iraq), two from South America (Paraguay, Argentina), two from CONCACAF (USA, Dominican Republic), one from Oceania (New Zealand) and the winner of the intercontinental playoff (Guinea).
