On Tuesday, June 11, the men's national beach soccer team of Ukraine held their first training session of the new season at the «Hydro Park Arena» in Kyiv.
The further plans for the blue-and-yellow team in 2024 were shared by our team's head coach, Mykhailo Kostenko.
"This is not an official gathering; currently, the team is working on a twice-weekly training schedule. We decided this way because all players are simultaneously training with their respective teams since the season has already started. On Tuesday, 13 players participated in the session, but overall we expect to have around 15-16 players."
At the end of June, we plan to travel to Moldova for several friendly matches. The national team of that country is being considered as a sparring partner. I am not fully confident this will happen, but we very much hope for a positive resolution to all issues.
As for official competitions, first and foremost, we plan to play in the League B of Euroleague. We will be fighting for promotion to League A, with the tournament taking place from July 17-21 in Batumi, Georgia. Secondly, from October 4-13, we will participate in the European qualification for the 2025 World Championship, which will take place on the Seychelles Islands. The qualifying matches will be held in Spain," — said Mykhailo Kostenko.
