Sports are responsible for all spheres of sustainable development in a democratic society, including the promotion of gender equality and equal opportunities for women and men.

Recognizing this, on March 8, 2024, the UAF made an historic step by establishing an expert group whose goal is to ensure gender equality in football. This aligns with the philosophy of the global and European football community that sports should be for everyone.

In terms of gender issues, this means equal access for women to play professional football without prejudice regarding it being a "male sport," as well as full rights when choosing football as a career path — the ability to choose a career in football management, coaching, refereeing, medicine, and other fields, as well as involvement in decision-making processes.

The primary tasks of the group will be to update the issue, work with gender stereotypes, respond to cases of sexism and gender-based violence, and international cooperation to share successful experiences.

The group includes First Vice President of UAF Pavlo Boychuk, General Secretary of UAF Igor Gryshchenko, as well as heads and headwomen of key departments and areas of work at UAF. The coordinator is Yelizaveta Stepaniuk, Head of UEFA and FIFA Relations.

So today we celebrate respect, solidarity, and recognition of women's achievements and believe that everyone will share our position.
