President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about preparing new agreements with partners and the tough situation on the front.

"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians,

A few things today.

I am already holding meetings about next week — our international events that we plan.

This concerns relations with partners in Europe, in the European Union. We will add activities.

And this also concerns security guarantees for Ukraine. We are preparing new agreements with partners — strong bilateral agreements. January and February should bring corresponding results. We already see specific dates when new and strong documents can be signed. I am grateful to our entire team involved in negotiations, all those leaders, those countries that are ready for truly ambitious decisions.

With the whole architecture of security guarantees — a new architecture — we are actually bringing back to life, resuscitating the system of international law. And when justice is restored for Ukraine and our security is restored, this will work for others in the world as well.

We are preparing further work with key partners regarding specific defensive support already now, these weeks and months. There will be new defense packages. I am grateful to all friends of Ukraine around the world who understand that the battlefield cannot simply wait and that saving lives cannot be postponed, and to everyone trying to speed up decisions needed — needed right now.

Over just one past day on the front there were more than a hundred combat encounters — intense battles. The hardest — in Avdiivka, Mariupol direction — Krasnogorovka, Lysychansk direction, Severodonetsk direction, Kharkiv direction — near Kupyansk, Kherson direction — in Kriniki. Our resilience now, destruction of the enemy now are critically important. Russia should have no illusions that anything will succeed for it. And I thank every one of our soldiers, everyone in Ukraine who is fighting now, working now, helping so that our people, our country can win this year.

I especially want to highlight today our fighters on the south front. In particular, Sergeant Major Serhiy Filonenko, 123rd Separate Brigade TO. Thank you for your bravery! Chief sergeant of logistics company 124th territorial defense brigade Andrii Suchok. Thank you for significant combat results in Kherson region! Soldier Oleksandr Plyahotnyuk, 38th air defense missile regiment. Thank you for accuracy during the repulsion of Russian terrorist attacks on our ports in Odesa.

Glory to all whose courage and effectiveness become the strength of Ukraine — the collective strength of our people! And may eternal and bright memory be with all who fought for our country and gave their lives so that Ukraine would live. Today, Ukraine remembers defenders of Donetsk airport — one of those battles that defined our current history. Ukrainians are stronger than any circumstances. We must recognize this strength in ourselves. And we must win this war. For our people, for our country, so that Russian evil will forever remember that it will never gain anything again.

Glory to Ukraine!»
