To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on January 20, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and ninetieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore laws and customs of war, employing terror tactics, launching missile and air strikes, and shelling both military and numerous civilian objects in our country with multiple rocket launchers.

During the past day, 103 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out one missile strike and 23 air raids, conducted 59 artillery attacks on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Civilian housing and infrastructure were damaged.

During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another aerial attack using seven combat drones of Shahed-136/131 type. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed four enemy drones.

Air raids hit Avdiivka, Orlovka and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk region.

Over 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, and increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks near the populated areas of Synkivka, Petro-Pavlivka, Tabayivka and Berestove in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman direction Ukrainian soldiers repelled 10 attacks by occupiers near Terny, Yamopolivky, Verkhnyokamyansky in Donetsk region and another 15 attacks near Serbryanytsk forest management, Bihorivka in Luhansk region.

On the Bakhmut direction, defensive forces repelled four enemy attacks near Ivanivske, Andriyivka and Klyschyvka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivsky direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting heavy losses on occupiers. Thus, defensive forces repelled 14 attacks by aggressors near Avdiivka and another 19 attacks south of Tonynkivky, Pervomaisk and Nevelsky in Donetsk region during the past day.

On the Mariupol direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiyivka, Mariupol and Novomikhailovka in Donetsk region where 12 attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsky direction, our defenders repelled an attack by the enemy south of Zolotoy Niva in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks by the enemy west of Verbovyne in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, defensive forces continue to take measures for expanding their foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. During the past day, the enemy carried out 10 unsuccessful assaults on positions of our troops.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers actively inflict casualties in manpower and equipment on occupying forces along the entire front line.

During the past day, aviation of defensive forces carried out strikes against one area of enemy personnel concentration.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to four artillery systems of the enemy.
