President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about the results of our air forces' work and preparing for the dispatch to Ukraine of the first F-16 destroyers.
"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!
An important day.
Thank you to our soldiers who destroyed three Russian 'Sukhois' right away. On the Southern front — in our Kherson region. The result of our air forces and directly the Odesa Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade. Thank you, boys! And let every Russian pilot know exactly that there will be a response to each Russian killer — none of them will go unpunished.
Second today.
I greeted two very important professional communities with their professional day today — Ukrainian energy workers and Ukrainian diplomats. So there are special days in the calendar: December 22 is Energy Workers' Day and the Day of Employees of Ukraine's Diplomatic Service.
In the morning, I honored energy sector workers with state awards. Such people, thanks to whom Ukraine can live normally — with light, heating. We are now going through our second winter of full-scale war, and it is significantly different from the first one. This is a result of colossal work by many collectives, companies, teams, officials, regional authorities. I am grateful to everyone who works for Ukraine's energy.
I was also at a meeting with representatives of our diplomatic community — those in the MFA system and those outside it carrying out foreign policy for our country. This year has been ambitious for Ukraine, and most of our ambitions in relations with partners have been realized. For next year — clear tasks, absolutely understandable KPIs for all employees and female employees in the diplomatic sphere of Ukraine.
I spoke today with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands. The Netherlands are preparing to dispatch the first F-16 destroyers to Ukraine. We have moved from political decisions regarding providing aircraft to training pilots and engineers and now we are implementing the technical part — actually supplying F-16s. I am grateful to the Netherlands and all our other partners supporting us in this.
Of course, Mark and I discussed current political issues, including agreement within the EU on a new aid package for Ukraine — 50 billion euros, a necessary long-term package. This is our resilience. And, besides that, we managed to discuss and prepare for a new meeting regarding the implementation of the Peace Formula.
I also met with recently appointed Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Sikorski. We are updating our relations. We discussed how we can overcome existing problems. Of course, I thanked Poland for its support to our country in the defense sphere. We have very serious opportunities for further joint work — such work that will strengthen both our peoples. This also concerns, among other things, joint defense production. Many issues need to be resolved. I am confident we can do this.
One more thing. I held a meeting with the Minister of Defense and his team. We are preparing solutions to those questions that our units and combat brigades face. Questions of motivation, determination of service terms, replenishment. The Armed Forces depend on people. And people — this is spirit and weapons. Both components we need to ensure. Thank you to everyone who helps!
Thank you to all those who fight and work for the interests of Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!"
