To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on December 23, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred sixty-eighth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terrorism tactics, carries out missile and air strikes, shells with multiple rocket launchers not only military but also numerous civilian objects in our country.

During the past day, 75 combat encounters took place. In total, the enemy inflicted one missile strike and 40 air strikes, carried out 57 shelling attacks from multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Yesterday, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using 23 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. The anti-aircraft defense destroyed 19 attacking UAVs.

Air strikes were carried out on Kostenbobriwka in Chernihiv Oblast; Synykhivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Katerinivka, Toretsk, Lastochkinske, Avdiivka, Georgiyivka, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast; Robotyne and Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Krinki in Kherson Oblast.

Populated areas of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, carries out active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 attacks near Synykhivka in Kharkiv Oblast, where the enemy attempted to break through our defenses.

On the Lyman direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Bakhmut direction our soldiers repelled eight attacks by the enemy near Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Klyshchyvka and Andriyivka in Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on occupiers. Defense forces repelled 23 attacks by the enemy east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepanovoye, and Avdiivka, as well as 17 attacks in areas around Pervomayskoe and Nevelskoye in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariinka direction defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in areas of Mariinka and Victory in Donetsk Oblast, where four attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk direction our defenders repelled an attack by the enemy west of Staromayorskoye in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction defense forces repelled all attacks by the enemy west of Verbovyne and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

At the same time on the Melitopol direction Ukrainian defense forces continue active operations inflicting losses on occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue efforts to expand their foothold. Despite failures, the enemy has not given up its goal of driving our units from occupied positions and carried out 17 unsuccessful assault operations. It received a worthy rebuff and retreated with losses. Our defenders conduct counter-battery fire, inflicting artillery damage on enemy rear areas.

During the past day, air forces of defense inflicted strikes on 12 concentration areas of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy. Also, anti-aircraft defense destroyed three bomber aircraft Su-34.

Subunits of rocket troops struck five concentration areas of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, two ammunition depots, and two command posts of the enemy.
