To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on July 6, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred ninety-eighth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense are continuing offensive operations on the Melitopol, Berdyansk, and Bakhmut axes, consolidating at gained positions, delivering artillery fire strikes on identified enemy targets, conducting counter-battery measures. North and south of the city of Bakhmut, pressure is being exerted on the enemy; in some places there are advances, pushing back the enemy from previously occupied lines. The enemy is putting up fierce resistance, actively using reserves, suffering heavy losses. Fierce battles continue here.

On the night of July 6, Russian occupiers carried out another terrorist act. Lviv region was attacked. Around midnight, the enemy launched an attack from the waters of the Black Sea — missiles "Kalibr" were fired from surface vessels and submarines. Several groups of cruise missiles were observed heading north initially, using the terrain and the Dnipro river course, then sharply changing their trajectory to the west.

As a result of combat operations by air defense systems, seven out of ten "Kalibr" cruise missiles were destroyed.

Unfortunately, there are hits on civilian objects in Lviv city.                                    

During the past day, Russian occupiers carried out five strikes with Iranian Shahed attack drones. Two kamikaze drones were destroyed by our air defense systems. Additionally, Russian occupiers carried out 59 aerial attacks and conducted 65 shelling operations from multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas.

The likelihood of missile and aerial strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol axes — 38 combat engagements took place during the past day.

On the Volyn and Polissya Axes, the operational situation remains unchanged. No signs of enemy offensive group formations have been identified. Units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in border areas with Ukraine.

On the Northern and Sloboda Axes, the enemy maintains a military presence. Carried out aerial strikes in the Grabove region of Sumy Oblast; Plytenivka, Kharkiv Oblast, and the city of Kharkiv. During the day, carried out mortar and artillery shelling on over 35 populated areas, including Hirske, Oleksandrivka, Timonovychi in Chernihiv Oblast; Seredyna-Buda, Stukalivka, Basyvka in Sumy Oblast, and Veterinaryne, Kozacha Lopan', Zeleno, and Gatsiche in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk Axis, the enemy does not abandon attempts to advance near Novoselivka of Luhansk Oblast. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense positions, repelling all enemy attacks. Occupants carried out aerial strikes in the regions of Ivanivka and Kislivka Kharkiv Oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling from the enemy affected Petro-Ivanivka, Figolivka, Monachynivka, Husinka, Novomlyn'sk, and Kislivka Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman Axis, during offensive operations, the enemy attempted to push our troops from occupied positions near Novoye Luhansk Oblast but was unsuccessful. Carried out an aerial strike in the region of Bihorivka Luhansk Oblast. Artillery shelling affected over 10 populated areas, including Nvesne and Bihorivka Luhansk Oblast, as well as Torske, Verkhnyokamyanske, and Rozdolvka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut Axis, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks near southern Berkivka and Bogdanivka of Donetsk Oblast. At the same time, they continue to conduct offensive operations south and north of the city of Bakhmut, consolidating at gained positions. The enemy carried out aerial strikes in the regions of Bogdanivka and Toretsk. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Markove, Khromove, Oleksandro-Shul'tine, and Pivnichne Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka Axis, Forces of Defense continue to hold back Russian troops' advance near the city of Avdiivka. At the same time, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the regions of Avdiivka and Nevelskoye. Conducted artillery shelling on over 15 populated areas, including Berdychy, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, Nevelske, and Pervomaiske Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol Axis, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks near the city of Mariupol. The enemy carried out an aerial strike in the region of Krasnogorivka Donetsk Oblast. Conducted shelling on over 10 populated areas, including Krasnogorivka, Hanyvka, Mariupol, and Pobeda Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk Axis, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the regions of Zolotoye Niva, Otradnoe, Makarivka, and Rivnopolye in Donetsk Oblast. Conducted shelling on over 15 populated areas, including Novomikhailivka, Vuhledar, Novaohraiska, and Prechystyvka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Axes, the enemy concentrates its main efforts to prevent our troops' advance. Carried out aerial strikes in the regions of Hryhorivka, Novodarivka, Zmiyivka, and Antonivka Kherson Oblast. Conducted artillery shelling on over 40 populated areas, including Levadne, Olhivske, Maliyivka, Hulyaypole, Bihor'ya in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Tokaryvka, Antonivka, Velyten'ske, Kizomys Kherson Oblast, and the city of Kherson.

Russian aggressors who are conducting combat operations on the territory of Donetsk Oblast complain about the lack of leave in units, including for family reasons. Commanders refuse to sign reports, arguing that it is forbidden by higher command orders. At the same time, commanders of separate units encourage mobilized Russian occupiers with contracts signed with the Ministry of Defense of Russia to go on weekends.

The aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out 13 strikes in areas where enemy personnel are concentrated over the past day and destroyed one air defense system of the enemy.

Units of rocket troops and artillery during the past day hit one area of concentration of manpower, weapons, and military equipment, four command points, one ammunition depot, eight artillery systems on firing positions, two anti-aircraft systems, one radar station, and four electronic warfare stations of the enemy.

During the past day, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a total of 600 Russian aggressors, burned six enemy tanks, fifteen armored combat vehicles, twenty-two artillery systems, one MLRS, nine anti-aircraft systems, twenty-one tactical drones, twenty-three cars, and seven pieces of special equipment.
