Our youth team is awaiting its next challenge. The quarterfinal match France — Ukraine will take place on Sunday, July 2nd at the "Cluj Arena" in Cluj-Napoca (kickoff at 10 PM Kyiv time).

Coach Ruslan Rotan's wards played their third group stage match of the final tournament of the Euro-2023 on Tuesday, drawing with Spain (2:2). Considering previous wins over Croatia (2:0) and Romania (1:0), the blue-and-yellow team accumulated seven points in total and secured second place in their group, falling behind Spain due to the overall goal difference.

According to the draw, our team will face the winner of Group D. France emerged victorious by defeating Switzerland (4:1) in their third match and accumulating nine points in total.

On Wednesday, our team had a half-day off as the players recovered. On Thursday, the coaching staff thoroughly analyzed the match against Spain together with the players. It's worth noting that this was the first time in four years that Spain conceded to an opponent based on ball possession.

Following this, the team began direct preparation for their match against France. On Friday morning, there was a training session where all players participated in the general group, including Mudryk. The team also reviewed video materials about their future opponent.

Today evening, the Ukrainian delegation flew from Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca. On Saturday at the "Cluj Arena," there is a scheduled pre-match training session; the match itself will take place on Sunday and start at 10 PM.

Kickoff times are Kyiv time.

To determine the remaining three European representatives for the Olympics-2024, there are three options:

1. If France or England reach the semifinals of Euro 2023 (U-21), then the other two semifinalists will automatically qualify for the Games.

2. If neither France nor England make it to the top four at Euro 2023 (U-21), a match for third place between the semifinal losers will take place.

3. If both France and England reach the semifinals of Euro 2023 (U-21) simultaneously, an additional knockout match for an Olympic spot will be held between the best teams among those that lose in the quarterfinals.

The best teams among the quarterfinal losers will be determined by criteria in this order:

a) better group stage position;

b) more points in the group stage;

c) better goal difference in the group stage;

d) more goals scored in the group stage;

e) better goal difference in the quarterfinal match (regular time);

f) more goals scored in the quarterfinal match (regular time);

g) disciplinary record;

h) better UEFA ranking position (before the draw for the final tournament).
