If the owners of direct promotions to the elite division have already been determined (they are "Polissya" and "Obolon"), then the fight for third—fourth places in the "championship" group, which give the right to play-off matches with the relegation-threatened teams from the UPL, is still keeping fans on edge.

If the owners of direct tickets to the elite division have already been determined (they are "Polska" and "Obolon"), then the battle for third-fourth places in the "championship" group, which gives the right to transitional matches with the relegation-threatened teams from the UPL, is still keeping fans on edge.
Today, the main focus was on the match in Cherkasy, where "LNZ", holding third place, hosted "Karpaty", who were two points behind but could have swapped places with the home team if they won.
However, the guests managed to put up resistance only at the beginning. Gradually, the Cherkasy players took control of the game. Near the end of the first half, they created four situations near Illyuchenko's goal. One of the scoring opportunities was converted by Galenko, taking advantage of a pass from Soldat.
"LNZ" did not let up after halftime either. On the 61st minute, active Savin doubled his team's lead. However, shortly after, Ryabov reduced the score to a minimum, but the guests were thrown off course by Pryimak's penalty. Lviv players, who played in a minority, conceded twice more. "LNZ" confidently won — 4:1 and secured their place in the transitional matches.
In parallel, "Metalurh" thanks to a goal from veteran Basov managed to snatch victory against "Epicenter" — 1:0. Zaporizhzhia team is now ahead of "Karpaty" by three points and have much better goal difference. In the final round, Lvivians need not only hope for a Metalurh defeat in Ternopil but also themselves win big against Obolon, which is practically impossible given how difficult it has been lately for Andriy Tulymak's wards to keep clean sheets.
And in Kyiv, "Obolon" and "Polska" settled their accounts. The match had significant importance for determining the winner of the first league championship. The rivals exchanged goals (1:1), and only after the final round will it be known which stronger team emerges.
