To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 04.05.2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred thirty-fifth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to disregard laws and customs of war, employing tactics of terror.

Information about the night combat operations of our PPO will be provided shortly. This is an update.

During the past day, the enemy carried out two missile strikes and 68 air raids, conducted 67 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers. Civilians were injured, private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

The likelihood of further enemy missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to concentrate its efforts on conducting offensive operations on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol axes — 40 enemy attacks were repelled. The fiercest battles are being fought for Bakhmut and Mariupol.

On the Volyn and Polesie fronts no signs of forming offensive groupings have been detected. On the territory of Belarus, preparations of personnel for Russian territorial forces continue.

On the Severnaya and Slobozhanska fronts the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas with Ukraine. During the past day, artillery and mortar shelling was carried out against populated areas of Buhachi, Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka, Rozhkovychi, Vorozhba, Basivka, Yunakivka, Myropillya, and Zapsillia in Sumy region, as well as Sotnitsky Kozachok, Hury-Kozachok, Baranivka, Chervona Zorya, Strylecha, Gatyshche, Vovchanskyi Khutor, and Mykolaivka in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk front the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. Artillery shelling was suffered by Topoli, Kamianka, Figolivka, Novomlynskyi, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Liman First, Kislivka, Krokhmalne, and Berestove in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman front the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions around Bihorivka with the aim of finding weak spots in our defense. Artillery shelling was suffered by Makieyivka and Bihorivka, Luhansk region, as well as Torske, Verkhnyokamianske, and Spirene — Donetsk.

On the Bakhmut front the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations. Battles are ongoing in the city of Bakhmut. Moreover, during the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards the populated area of New York. Civilian casualties were suffered by Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, White Mountain, North and South, as well as New York in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiivka front the enemy conducted offensive actions around Severnyi, Donetsk region. Success was not achieved. Shelling of populated areas Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Severnyi, Tonenkye, Karlivka, Netaylove, and Perevomayske.

On the Mariupol front the enemy attempts to improve tactical position. Numerous enemy attacks were repelled in the areas of Mariupol and Novomykhailivka. Shelling was also suffered by Krasnogorivka, Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk front the enemy shelled populated areas Vuhledar, Bogoyavlenska,  Novoukrayinka, Prechystyvka, Zolotaya Niva, and Shakhterske Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson fronts the enemy continues to conduct defensive operations. Delivered a missile strike on the city of Zaporizhzhia and an air raid on Kizimys, Kherson region. Artillery shelling was carried out against populated areas Vremivka, Novosilka, and Novopil Donetsk region; Hulyaypole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilyvka, Orikhyv, Novoandriyivka, and Kamianske Zaporizhzhia region; Kapulivka in Dnipropetrovsk region; Chervoniy Mayak, Tokaryvka, Antonivka, Kizimys, and the city of Kherson. Civilians were killed.

Forced passportization of citizens of Ukraine is ongoing in Henichesk district of temporarily occupied Kherson region. Russian occupiers constantly pressure locals, threatening deportation and confiscation of property, limiting movement between populated areas. People with Ukrainian passports are met with discriminatory attitudes from the oppressors.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 13 strikes against enemy personnel concentrations as well as four strikes — on enemy air defense missile systems during the past day.

Units of rocket forces and artillery inflicted damage to areas where occupiers are concentrated, radio-electronic warfare station, three artillery units in firing positions, three ammunition depots and propellant materials, as well as an enemy air defense missile system over the past day.
