In the previous matches of Group A5, which were hosted by Denmark, Valery Palamarchuk's wards lost to Sweden (0:5) and to the hosts (1:5). Our national team, unfortunately, prematurely lost its place in League A, while in the last match of the quartet they faced Iceland, which secured a spot as the group winner for the European Championship.
The match took place in Bronshøj. The Icelandic players went ahead on the scoreboard at the 31st minute, but just before halftime, the Ukrainians equalized thanks to a goal by Myloduk.
In the second half, Myloduk scored again, but their opponents quickly restored parity. In the end, the match ended in a draw — 2:2, so our girls earned one qualifying point. Nevertheless, next season, Ukraine's women's youth team WU-19 will start in League B. The draw for the first round of qualification for Euro 2024 (WU-19) will take place on June 16.
