In the semifinal, our girls defeated Hungary's team — 2:1 and for the first time in history advanced to the final of the European Championship, thus securing at least silver medals. We remind you that last year, at Euro 2022, Ukrainian women's team won bronze, and in 2019 they took fourth place.
In the final, blue-and-yellow faced off against the winners of both previous European Championships — Spain. In the semifinal, "La Furia Roja" overcame Portugal — 3:2. It's worth noting that Oleg Shaytanov's wards last met Spanish women on July 1st last year in Euro 2022's semifinals losing to them with a score of 0:9.

Unfortunately, already at the first minute, the Pyrenees took the lead — Dubitska fouled in her own penalty area, and Peke converted the penalty. Ukrainians responded with two shots on goal by Shulga, but afterwards, the course of the match was controlled by their opponents.
Several times Kislava saved Ukrainian women, however, at the 11th minute Spanish doubled their lead — Samper broke through the right flank and scored, while Babenko's shot went into her own goal. Afterwards, the game became more or less equal with chances arising for both teams. Among Ukraine’s team, Shulga, Titova, and Grytsenko had shots on target. However, at the 20th minute, Claudia Pons' wards scored their third — de Pas concluded a counter-attack initiated by Silvia with an accurate shot into the far corner.

Near the end of the match, Ukrainians began playing with a fifth outfield player, and in the end Shulzi managed to break the deadlock at the 36th minute. After this, "La Furia Roja" scored another goal, thus winning the game with a score of 5:1.
