President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the work within our initiative Grain from Ukraine and the return to normal life in liberated areas.
"Good evening, dear Ukrainians!
This was a special day of a special week.
The most pleasant, the most symbolic - today I had the honor to award our heroes who were freed from Russian captivity and members of our team - those who work for the return of Ukrainians home.
I want to thank everyone now once again who is carrying out this task. 1331 - so many have already been freed during the full-scale war.
And no Ukrainian will be left in Russian prisons, camps and 'isolations'. We remember all of them. The day will come - we will welcome them again on freedom.
Throughout this week, we worked at various levels in European capitals to secure critical support for the launch of a special tribunal - a tribunal regarding Russian aggression.
London, Paris, Berlin, Warsaw and other capitals... Everywhere we strengthen our position, accumulate support from partners. I am confident that the tribunal will be, justice will prevail.
We are also quite actively moving forward with another point of Ukraine's peace formula - food security. Every day we use to make the world see and feel that global stability is possible only together with Ukraine.
Today, in the port of Odessa, the third ship within our initiative Grain from Ukraine has arrived. 25 thousand tons of humanitarian wheat will be sent to Somalia. The second ship (finishing loading at Chornomorsk port) is heading to Ethiopia. On board - 30 thousand tons of wheat. Also heading to Ethiopia is the first ship under this program - 'Grain from Ukraine'.
Overall, by the end of spring we will send nearly 60 ships with such humanitarian cargo. This literally means saving millions of people from hunger. And I am grateful to all our partners who joined the Ukrainian initiative.
Another one of our initiatives - export grain - has made it possible to put almost 13 million tons of Ukrainian agri-products on the market. A significant contribution to global security. We are doing everything we can to increase supplies.
I want to highlight today everyone who is restoring normal life in liberated areas, especially in Kherson region and the city of Kherson. These are people from different regions - all have united, all responded to the call for help... Our energy workers, builders, communications specialists, repair crews, businesses, local leaders, sappers.
In just a few days this week over 200 explosive hazardous items were removed. Demining continues.
In Kherson region there is more and more coverage of communications every week, more supply of electricity and gas, more transport opportunities. Every week more access to normal healthcare, educational and social services. Today in Kherson the Ukrainian TV marathon 'United News' went on air.
I thank everyone who despite constant Russian shelling and various attempts by terrorists to hinder us is doing everything so that Ukrainians can live - live normally.
And one more thing.
These days we are celebrating 300 years since the birth of Hryhoriy Skovoroda - our philosopher who taught happiness and self-knowledge, seeking true self in this world.
I visited Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky today. The place where Skovoroda lived and taught.
It would be funny if it were not bitter that the occupiers are trying to steal another Ukrainian from Ukraine. They say something there, as if even Skovoroda - theirs. But we know they cannot catch him. As never before can they stop, break or capture Ukraine.
These days we made some steps to guarantee the spiritual independence of our people. I see that people support these steps. And very strongly support them.
And this is not all. There will be more steps. Ukraine will never again stop at half-measures.
Glory to all who fight and work for our country!
I thank everyone who protects and helps our people!
Glory to Ukraine!"
