Today in Saudi Arabia the Ukrainian women's beach soccer team continued their participation in the prestigious Neom Beach Soccer Cup 2022.
In the opening match of the tournament, the blue-and-yellow team lost to the fourth-ranked team in the BSWW world ranking—Brazil (0:2). In their second game, they were unable to overcome the second-ranked team in the world—England (2:4). Today, our team (fifth in the registry) faced a less prominent team—the Netherlands (sixteenth).
At the beginning of the first period, the opponents exchanged sharp attacks, and then the game went one way. On the seventh minute, the Ukrainians took the lead. Myrosława Vypasnyak demonstrated excellent execution of a set play. A minute later, our goalkeeper Anastasiia Tereshka took advantage of an error by her Dutch counterpart, and another minute later, Anastasiia Kalagina extended the blue-and-yellow team's lead to three goals.
In the second 12-minute period, on the sixteenth minute, Myrosława Vypasnyak delivered a "scissors" kick, and once again the Dutch goalkeeper made an error—4:0. Following this spectacular play, our goalkeeper, Anastasiia Tereshka, scored another goal for a double on the twenty-first minute.
Myrosława Vypasnyak put the exclamation point in the match in the third period by scoring a hat-trick—6:0. Thus, the Ukrainian team earned three points and finished the group stage of the tournament in Saudi Arabia in third place.
