On October 18, the draw for the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-21) took place in Bucharest. As a result, 16 national teams were divided into four groups. The Ukrainian youth team, by the will of the draw ended up in Group B along with Romania, Spain, and Croatia.

The head coach of the Spanish U-21 national team, Luis de la Fuente, shared his thoughts on the results of the draw.

"Now we know who we will face, and we need to go through this path. It will be difficult — there are strong teams in our group. The first match will be very important because the Romanian team will play in front of their own fans, so they will give everything on the field. But I like that, as it will allow us to feel the atmosphere of the championship."

"It's even good that we play all group stage matches in Bucharest. And if we manage to finish first in our group, which would be very difficult, we'll also host the quarterfinals in Romania's capital. This means we won't have long trips, which can be quite tiring and sometimes disrupt preparation," — Luis de la Fuente said.
