During today's draw in Bucharest, the Ukrainian youth team learned the names of their opponents in the final tournament of Euro-2023 (U-21). The blue-and-yellow qualified for Group B, where they will face Romania, Spain, and Croatia. Our team will start their journey with a match against Croatia on June 21 of next year in Bucharest, Romania.

"There are no weak teams in the final tournament; it will be tough to play against all of them. But I am confident that our opponents won't find it easy either. I would like to note that this tournament is somewhat special. It has been a long time since such strong teams by ranking have qualified."

Spain — a very strong opponent, one that requires no introduction. Many of its players are called up to the national team. We saw matches of this squad when we were preparing for the knockout stage against Slovakia, as these teams competed in the same group. Generally speaking, Spain is a powerhouse at the youth level, always reaching the semifinals and winning five gold medals.

Romania — the host country of the championship, and that says it all. We met them in the previous qualifying cycle and know their strengths well.

The Croatian school is known to everyone, and until the last round, the Balkan team was battling with Norway for first place in the group, while in the playoffs they eliminated a strong Danish squad.

Strategically, facing Spain in the final match looks good. However, we will still play against each team in our group. In every match, you get three points for a win and one point for a draw. And if we want to advance further, at least to exit the group stage, we need to aim for maximum results in every game," — said Ruslan Rotan.
